Dairy Goats Outdoor Adventures Crafts Horses Small Animals Cats Veterinary Sciences Gardening Dogs Fishing and Goat Packing are on hold until further notice. Poway 4-H held the first Community Meeting of the 2020-2021 meeting on Wednesday, August 19th. It was a Zoom meeting because we are still not allowed to gather as a group according to county rules. A lot of members participated in the Zoom conference and it was really nice to see them all again after a long summer. At this meeting the new officers were officially welcomed into their leadership positions. Can't wait for the next Community Meeting on Wednesday October 7th. If you want to check it out contact us and we will send you the Zoom link.
Hello! Sorry we've been a little MIA lately. We are still here and relevant in the community.
We recently had our last community meeting of the year via Zoom. We held an election for board positions for the 2020-2021 year. We also had a couple of project meetings over Zoom, too. We don't know if we will be meeting in person next year, but promise to keep you updated. The kick-off meeting is planned for early August. We miss everyone and wish everyone a safe and healthy summer, and hope to see you all in the fall! :) We had our February Community Meeting on February 5th. Old Business included reports from all the different projects that met in January and those that went to Junior Leadership Camp, a camp focused on inspiring leaders in 4-H. New Business included the upcoming presentation days, as well as the announcements of club activities like laser tag and helping out at a pig farm. Our monthly donation item was nonperishable foods for the military. After the meeting, we made "thank you" cards for the military to go along with the snacks we packed. Our next community meeting is March 4th at 6:30 PM at the Poway Elk's Lodge. Hope to see you there! Attached below is the community meeting agenda :)
On January 8th, we had our first community meeting of 2020! Old Business included a review of key events in 2019 (like fairs and favorite projects) and Christmas in the Park. New Business included discussion of Junior Leadership Camp and where the proceeds of Christmas in the Park would go (we made nearly $1,000!!). In addition, we had one of our 4-H dads give a presentation on beekeeping. He showed us the hives he makes for his bees, his bee suit, and some honey for us to try. It was un-BEE-lievably awesome. Our next community meeting is February 5th @ 6:30 PM @ Poway Elk's Lodge. We will be making thank you cards for the troops. Attached below it the agenda from the meeting and some pictures.
On Wednesday, December 4th, we had our Holiday Party/December Community Meeting. In addition to the normal club news, we had a potluck, passed out pins and awards to almost all of our amazing members, decorated cookies, and played a white elephant sock exchange game. We wish everyone a happy holiday season and look forward to seeing everyone again in the new year (and decade)! But, if you can't wait that long to see us, we will be having a booth at Christmas in the Park, held on Saturday, December 14th from 3-9 PM at Old Poway Park. We will be selling mistletoe, reindeer food, and handmade goat soap. Come say ho ho ho!
